Dollar Store Fixtures & Equipment
We have discovered the best cost effective way to display the merchandise. It looks good, its affordable. Cheaper then gondolia shelving and it holds more stuff.
To save money, you can build them yourself or you can hire a local contractor to make them.
The walls might already have slatboard on them. If they do, all you do is buy the hooks for them. If it is not already covered then you go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy white pegboard. First you get wooden 1" by 2"s and screw them to the walls. Then you put up 4' by 8' sheets of white pegboard over that so the pegboard is not directly screwed to the walls. This way the hooks will go in easy to hang the merchandise. These pegboard sheets are currently priced at only $14 per sheet at Lowes. Next you will need 2" by 4"s to build a 4' wide by 6' high wooden frame for the pegboard cubes that you will make isles out of to hang merchandise. You get alot of stuff on these cubes way more than shelves. Most of all our stuff is retail ready hanging stuff. You can even build a checkout counter out of pegboard and use short hooks to hang stuff on them. So now even your checkout counter is a selling station. The wall of the counter would be pegboard. The counter top would be a regular counter top that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. This is much cheaper then buying a checkout counter. You need to leave plenty of space between cubes for customers to get their shopping carts around one another.
