This is NOT a typical dollar store franchise. You will be the owner of a one of a kind dollar store. There are no Christian themed dollar stores currently open in the world. The name Christian Dollar Store is trademarked and you would have rights to use it. The name says it all. The name of your business can either make you or break you. The name Christian Dollar Store is widely known on the Internet. We have been in business since 2001. People call us all the time asking if there is a retail Christian Dollar Store near them that they can shop at so they can physically handle the merchandise. Sadly we have to tell them, "Sorry not at this present time." We are looking to have the retail version open all across America. You have total control over most all aspects of your business. The only thing we require is to not go against Christian beliefs with anti Christian themed merchandise. Keep it Christian themed. To get and idea of what we sell, look at the products on our website. Since we are a franchise there is a small ongoing royalty of 3% of gross sales and a one time initial franchise fee of $5000, but you do receive ongoing customer support and access to the purchasing network which are the main benefits of a franchise. From the beginning you have most control over all decisions regarding the store, including site location, store layout, timing of opening, merchandise (as long as it is not anti-Christian), advertising, marketing, etc.

A couple of dollar stores in my town have already closed up. For these reasons I believe.

1. They are a typical dollar store with no niche market.

2. Typical dollar stores can not compete with Dollar Tree. Dollar tree has no middle man, they get their stuff direct from china, specially made for them, with their name printed on their products. Typical dollar stores sell the same things as Dollar Tree but pay more for them because they get their products from middle men. This cuts into their profits. To make up for this the typical dollar store can not raise their prices to compete with Dollar Tree. We can if we want because there is no dollar store currently selling what we sell.

3. The price of freight has went up due to gasoline prices. They pay more for their goods. If they raise prices then they can no longer sell their stuff for a dollar like Dollar Tree. We can sell our stuff mostly for $1, but also, we can sell items up to $1.99. We have no competition at this time. No one is currently selling what we sell in retail stores. Your profits will be more secure.

4. The typical dollar store pays .60 for each item not counting freight and sell it for $1.00. Only making .25 on each item by the time they pay their freight. You can mark up your items double what you pay for them. We can do this because we have no competition. If you pay $1 for it sell it for $1.99, if you pay .50 for it sell it for .99.

We are one of the most lowest cost franchises to get into. The typical franchise fee is $10,000 and royalties are averaging 6%. You pay only half of this, and you would be selling products that you can believe in. Your biggest customers would be Sunday school teachers, churches, missionaries, spending hundreds of dollars at a time. Depending on how big their classes are.
